Journalnews | The Sriwijaya Air plane for the Jakarta-Pontianak route with flight code SJ 182 was declared lost contact on Saturday (9/1/2021) at around 14.00 WIB. Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said the plane lost contact 4 minutes after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten.

 "That there has been a lost contact with the Sriwijaya aircraft on the Jakarta-Pontianak route with the SJY 182 call sign. The last contact was at 14:40 WIB," Budi said in a press conference from Soetta Airport, Saturday. This incident also received world attention.

A number of countries have even sent condolences for the downing of the Sriwijaya Air plane. Anything? 

1. Saudi Arabia Several hours after the incident, King Salman sent his condolences to President Joko Widodo and the families of the victims. 

"We have learned about the news of the crash of a passenger plane in North Jakarta, we send it to Your Excellency, and the family of the deceased and Indonesian brothers, sincere condolences and sympathy," said King Salman, quoted by the Saudi Press Agency, Saturday (9 / 1/2021).

2. Turkey Launching Anadolu Agency, Turkey expresses its condolences to Indonesia for the crash of a passenger plane near the capital city of Jakarta. 

"We are deeply saddened that a passenger plane flying from Jakarta to the Indonesian city of Pontianak crashed shortly after takeoff today, resulting in the loss of the lives of more than 60 people," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

 "We wish Allah's mercy on those who lost their lives in that tragic accident and offer sincere condolences to those they were," he added.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu personally expressed his condolences to Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi by telephone. The head of the Turkish Parliament also expressed his condolences to Indonesia for the accident via his Twitter account. 

"I am very saddened to know the number of victims in plane crashes in Indonesia. I wish Allah's grace for those who lost their lives and send my condolences to their loved ones and their Indonesian brothers," wrote Mustafa Sentop.

3. Bahrain Meanwhile, the King of Bahrain Hamid bin Isa al-Khalifa expressed his condolences to the government and people of Indonesia for the Sriwijaya Air plane crash. Bahrain's Foreign Ministry affirmed its deep sympathy for Indonesia for the devastating tragedy, quoted from the Bahrain News Agency, Saturday. 

4. Jordan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jordan expresses its sincere condolences to Indonesia for the victims of a civilian passenger plane that crashed into the Java Sea. Ministry spokesman Daifallah Fayez voiced solidarity with the government and the Indonesian people in this crisis, quoted by MENAFN, Saturday. 5. Pakistan Launching the Nation, Sunday (10/1/2020), Pakistan expressed its deep condolences and sympathy to the government and the people of Indonesia for the tragic plane crash. 

"We express our deep sympathy and condolences for the loss of so many precious lives in the tragic accident of Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 Indonesia, en route from Jakarta to Pontianak," Foreign Ministry spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said on his Twitter account.

 "Our thoughts and prayers are for the families of the victims, the government, and the brotherhood of the Indonesian people," he continued.
